Ceramic connectors
without fixing hole

Ceramic connectors. Porcelain is the oldest and most natural material in the world for electrical insulation. It is heat-resistant, non-corrosive, non-inflammable, and resistant to various chemicals. These connector blocks are designed to withstand use in high temperature applications, and direct connection to very high temperature components (e.g. heating elements) is possible.

Steatite
connectors
Steatite is an alternative to ceramics. This material consists to about 90 % of soapstone, a very soft mineral. It can be shaped easily, and a temperature treatment at roughly 1300 °C, including diverse additives, will provide it with special properties. Advantages in comparison to ceramics: higher density, better value concerning bending and compression strength
as well as elasticity, higher dielectric strength

Thermoset
connectors
Contrary to thermoplastics, thermosets are not combustible and do not melt under the effects of heat. The material may embrittle, but the dimensional stability and
insulation capacity will not be impaired under heat. Thermoset terminal blocks should be used in applications with these particular requirements.

“Europe”
terminal blocks
These terminal blocks are available in 1 to 12 poles. Between every pole there are mounting holes and, in all designs, the screws are captive and raised ready for wiring.
The wire protector on every „DS“ type will reliably prevent any damage on flexible conductors from tightening the screw.

“Europe” terminal blocks
with rased base
Due to the raised base the creepage distance between the support and the clamping gear is increased to > 8 mm on this design. This enables the terminal to be used in electrical household, appliances luminaires etc. without an insulating support, in accordance with VDE 0700/0711.

“Europe” terminal blocks
with and without protective covers
2-way terminal blocks can be protected against accidental touching by using a cover cap. After fixing the terminal block, the cap is simply pressed on and snaps undetachably into position. On one side of the cap there are sparings for cable entries, the other side can be broken out if necessary.

Connection groups are visibly separated from each other by use of various colour combinations of connector blocks. Standard colours are white, blue and green. In the case of type „E“ the terminal block green is designed as a protective connector and is marked with the earth sign. An enclosed toothed screw, M3 x 12 mm, will give an earth contact to the metal base by being screwed in from the bottom (maximum thickness of base plate 2 mm).

Plug-in
connector blocks
Plug-in connector strips are used on applications where circuits are required to be isolated in an easy and convenient manner. In a pre-wired installation the plug-in connector allows a fast and safe connection, which reduces the possibility of error when re-connecting. To reduce the minimum electrical resistance across the plug-in connector, the products are
designed with a high contact pressure between the male and female poles.

RiKO terminal blocks offer a contact-safe cover of the clamp body and are suited for a fixed or open mounting within or outside of lamps or appliances. Due to their construction design, assembly is possible with metal luminaria of protection category II, following the European Standard EN 60598/ EN 60335, without any additional devices.
